Method: When it’s time for the teleseminar, just pick up the phone and dial the long distance number and password you’ll get after you register. You’ll need long distance access and a touch tone phone to participate.

Teleseminar Size: Teleseminars will have a minimum of 5 and maximum of 25 participants.

Curriculum:

Cow/Goat Shares 101 – Basic (Legal & Operations)
An introduction into cow/goat share contracts, set up, pricing and basic operations.
Instructors: Tim Wightman and Pete Kennedy, Esq.
Format: 1 hour lecture (30 minutes each Tim and Pete) 30 minutes Questions/Answers

Cow/Goat Shares 102 – Intermediate (Operations)
Discussion of operations refinements for optimum quality and profitability as well as solutions to common problems.
Instructor: Tim Wightman
Format: 1 hour lecture and 30 minutes Questions/Answers

Cow/Goat Shares 103 – Advanced (Legal & Operations)
A lively forum for getting your most important legal and operations questions answered.
Instructors: Tim Wightman and Pete Kennedy, Esq.
Format; 1 ½ hour open question and answer forum

Instructors:
Tim Wightman is a lifetime farmer and Board Member of the Farm-to-Consumer Foundation. He has pioneered CSAs, organic cooperatives, farmers’ markets, the cow-share program and the farm-share program while living in Northern Wisconsin. Tim now lives in Western Ohio and is currently operating a small raw milk dairy. Tim consults worldwide with dairy farmers on cow-shares, raw milk safety and direct marketing and is the author of the “Raw Milk Production Handbook”.

Pete Kennedy, Esq. is an attorney and Board Member of the Farm-to-Consumer Legal Defense Fund. He works on dairy issues, particularly, the right of farmers to distribute raw milk and raw milk products direct to consumers. Each week, he helps farmer members of the Fund with cow or goat-share operation start-ups. He compiled the state raw milk laws and state raw milk summaries posted at www.realmilk.com. He is currently working with others to challenge the federal ban on the interstate shipment of raw milk for human consumption.
